Why Sync Up?
Did you know that 85% of hospital visits from seniors living at home are due to medication non-adherence? Not only can we help you maintain your health and reduce preventable accidents but staying compliant will save you money long-term.
Here are some other interesting facts about non-adherence that will help you answer the question, why Sync Up?
- Half of all patients do not take their medications as prescribed;
- Adherence is lowest among patients with chronic illnesses.
- At least 125,000 Americans die annually due to poor medication adherence.
- Total potential savings from adherence and related disease management could be $290 billion annually — 13% of health spending.
- 60% of patients interviewed immediately after visiting their doctors misunderstood the directions regarding prescribed medications.
There is no additional cost for packaging or shipping, to patients with 5 or more monthly meds. A $20 monthly packaging fee will apply to patients with 4 or fewer meds. All meds will be processed through insurance and the normal copay and deductibles will apply.
No, your copays will stay the same for a 30 day supply. All pharmacies are required to charge the same copays per your insurance plan.
We process your medications one week in advance so that your meds will arrive on time every time.
Have your doctor send the new prescription to our pharmacy. We will send out enough new medication until your next sync date. New med will then be added to your Sync Packs.
If you or a health care provider can identify the discontinued med, we recommend to staple it off in the bottom corner of the pack and avoid taking with your remaining scheduled meds. If you have trouble identifying the med please contact our pharmacy for further assistance.
Have provider fax or e-prescribe any changes to your medication therapy. You can always call our pharmacy to discuss changes.
We prefer to have a credit or debit card on file so that service is not interrupted. Copays and non-insured meds will be charged to the account every 28 days. Invoices will be emailed upon payment. Charges should remain consistent but if a new med is added, we will notify you of the cost before filling. If a credit card is not available, we can invoice upon request.
We can ship controlled 2 medications (narcotics) with a hard copy prescription delivered to our pharmacy. Schedule 2 controls do require a signature upon receipt of mail delivery.
Medications that are likely to change, will be packaged in a pouch by themselves; thus changes to dosage or discontinuations are more easily managed. Meds that are to be taken 'as needed' will be sent in a regular vial along with Sync Packs.
If your insurance or address is changing, please call the pharmacy to supply your new information so that medication is not interrupted.
If you have a patch, inhaler, pen or any other medication that does not come in a pill form, we will send those medications monthly along with your Sync Packs. We can also create reminders on the Sync Packs to help you remember to take your non-pill medication.
We would be happy to presort and package your over the counter (OTC), vitamins and supplements. Our cost is competitive with regular pharmacy retail pricing on these added items. Please contact our pharmacy for exact pricing for your needs. All OTC and supplements will need a prescription from your physician in order to be packaged in the Sync Packs. Don’t worry - we will work with your provider to acquire the necessary prescriptions for you.
